PRIVACY POLICY

1. WHO WE ARE

Roofline Asset Protection Ltd

Last updated: 27 August 2026

Roofline Asset Protection Ltd (“Roofline Asset Protection”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal information when you visit our website, request a quotation, book our services, communicate with us, become a customer or otherwise interact with Roofline Asset Protection Ltd.

We provide professional gutter clearing and preventative gutter maintenance services for residential properties.

We process personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and applicable electronic marketing and cookie legislation (PECR). As a data controller, we handle all personal information responsibly and transparently.

2. WHAT WE COLLECT AND WHY

We collect information you give us directly — your name, address, email, phone number, and details of your enquiry or booking — when you contact us by phone, email, WhatsApp, or our website contact form, request a quote, or book a service. If you contact us via WhatsApp, that message is also handled by WhatsApp/Meta under their own privacy policy.

When carrying out work, we may take before/after photos or video of gutters and rooflines for quality control and service records. We won't use identifiable images for marketing or promotion without your consent.

If you pay us, payment details are processed by our payment provider — we don't store full card numbers.

Our website also automatically collects technical data (IP address, browser/device type, pages visited) and cookie data, covered in Section 5.

We use this information to respond to enquiries, provide quotes, arrange and carry out work, take payment, keep service and financial records, handle complaints, comply with legal obligations (e.g. tax and insurance requirements), and — where you've consented, or as an existing customer under the "soft opt-in" rule — to send you service reminders or offers. Our legal bases are: performance of a contract, our legitimate business interests, legal obligation, and consent where required. You can withdraw consent at any time.

You can opt out of marketing at any time via the unsubscribe link, or by contacting us — this won't affect essential service communications like booking confirmations or invoices.

3. WHO WE SHARE IT WITH

We don't sell your data. We share it only where necessary with: payment providers; WhatsApp/Meta (if you message us there); our website hosting and IT providers; accountants, solicitors and insurers where needed to run our business; and regulators or authorities (e.g. HMRC) where we're legally required to.

Some providers we use may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.

4. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes it was collected, including to satisfy any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. As a general guide:

  • Enquiry/contact form data: up to 12 months if it does not lead to a booking, unless you ask us to delete it sooner
  • Customer and job records (including invoices and job history): up to 6 years, to meet HMRC and accounting obligations
  • Marketing consent records: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, plus a reasonable period afterwards to record that withdrawal
  • Website analytics/cookie data: as set out in our cookie settings, typically no longer than 26 months

5. COOKIES

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to help it function properly and to understand how visitors use the site. This may include:

  • Essential cookies, needed for the website to work correctly
  • Analytics cookies, which help us understand site traffic. These are non-essential and will only be set if you explicitly opt in via our website cookie banner.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time. Disabling essential cookies may affect how parts of our website function.

6. MARKETING

We may occasionally contact existing customers or enquiries about services, maintenance reminders, offers or other information relating to Roofline Asset Protection.

We will comply with applicable electronic marketing laws when sending marketing communications.

Where consent is required, we will ask for it before sending marketing communications.

You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by:

  • Using the unsubscribe option provided in an email;

  • Contacting us directly; or

  • Following any other opt-out instructions included in the communication.

Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still contact you with important service or administrative information, such as appointment confirmations, invoices, maintenance arrangements or other communications necessary to provide a service you have requested.

7. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Some of the third-party technology providers we use may process personal information outside the United Kingdom.

Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, we will take appropriate steps to ensure that the transfer is lawful and that your information receives an appropriate level of protection in accordance with applicable data protection law.

Where applicable, this may involve the use of UK adequacy regulations, approved contractual safeguards or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

  • Unauthorised access

  • Unauthorised disclosure

  • Loss

No method of transmitting or storing information online can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

If we become aware of a personal data breach, we will assess the incident and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable data protection law.

Where a breach is likely to result in a risk to individuals' rights and freedoms, we may be required to notify the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), normally within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.

9. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, including booking, payment, social media or other external services.

If you follow a link to a third-party website, that website will have its own privacy policy and terms.

11. 16 OR UNDER

Our services are aimed at adults. We don't knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.

12. BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOGRAPHS

Our service involves taking photographs or video footage of gutters and roofline areas before and after cleaning.

These records can help demonstrate the condition of the guttering and the work carried out.

We may use such records for internal service documentation, quality control, customer communication and resolving disputes.

We will not deliberately photograph people without an appropriate lawful basis.

Where we wish to use identifiable customer property imagery for advertising, social media, case studies or other public promotional purposes, we will obtain appropriate permission where required. Identifiable property features (such as house numbers, vehicle registration plates, or distinct street signs) will be blurred or removed prior to any promotional publication unless express permission is granted

13. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:

  • Changes to our services

  • Changes to our website

  • Changes to the technology we use

  • Changes to how we process personal information

  • Changes in applicable law or regulatory guidance

The latest version will always be published on our website.

We recommend checking this page periodically to ensure you are aware of any changes.

Where a change materially affects how we use your personal information, we will provide additional information where required.
